I heard 2 sad stories today from people who had rented properties from vacation rental by owner sites and found that their money was gone and they had no place to stay! Beware of scamers! In both of these cases, someone had pirated pictures and info from a Vacation Rental Management Company and placed an ad on a consumer web site. If the person will not accept credit cards beware!!! This is the biggest clue.
Better yet, only rent from licensed Vacation Rental Management companies with FMB Chamber of commerce membership. This at last gives you an avenue of dispute. Better yet, make sure that company is also members of the Vacation Rental Managers Association which is the highest governing board in the country.
Sun Palace Vacations is a member in good standing of the followimg professional organizations:
Greater Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, Lee County VCB. VisitFlorida, Trust Earned Travel, Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association and the National Vacation Rental Managers Association.

March 14 – 15th, 2009
This Lion’s Club sponsored family island event includes a parade, 5k Run, Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant, Live Music and lots of great food featuring —–SHRIMP!!
Estero Blvd., North from Seagrape Plaza and the Matanzas Skybridge will be closed from 9:00 a.m. The bridge is usually closed till noon and there will be long line-ups of traffic coming onto the island all weekend.
Guests departing on the 14th should consider leaving early or by the South route through Bonita Beach. Parking in the area of Seagrape Plaza and the Library is very congested due to the marshaling of the floats. You can try parking at Junkanoos and walking up. The Island Pancake House is a great place for breakfast.
All guests arriving on the 14th are strongly advised to come onto the island from the south through Bonita. There is a large Publix grocery store at US 41 and Bonita Beach Road.
